About Maleme Cottages

Nestling in the sleepy, unspoilt village of Maleme, with a backdrop of the White Mountains and a beautiful adjoining two-acre orange grove, Maleme Cottages offer a luxury, tranquil Cretan village holiday.

Only a five minute stroll through the rustic village lanes to the beach, tavernas, shops and supermarkets, yet sufficiently far enough from the main resort area to ensure a peaceful, relaxing setting, our traditionally built cottages have been lovingly and tastefully restored to maintain their original charm and character whilst importantly incorporating all the facilities you would expect for modern day living and more.

Finished to the highest quality, the Greek-chic interiors offer a unique combination of accommodation, with a balance of communal and separate living, dining, kitchen and recreational spaces promoting a harmonious environment.

The properties are ideal for couples, families with young children and perhaps particularly appealing for those families with teenagers who can enjoy their own space whilst remaining in the heart of the family holiday.

Each cottage has a fully equipped luxury, dining kitchen. Between the kitchens is a door which can inter-connect the cottages if you wish, although each is accessed separately from outside and has an individual patio area in the garden.

Cottage number two has one luxury bathroom and one shower room both stylish and practical. The master double bedroom boasts a spacious, first floor south-facing sun terrace, a private space exclusively accessed from this room with views of the mountains and countryside.

On the ground floor at the rear of the cottage, away from the pool area and the hub of cottage life, is the tastefully decorated lounge with air-conditioning, satellite t.v. and hi-fi, leading out to a lawned area at the rear of the property - ideal for enjoying a quiet read in a shady nook in the lovely garden. This lounge can also be used as a twin bedroom.

Cottage number one has an impressive, romantic double bedroom on a stunning mezzanine floor with a vaulted ceiling. The spacious lounge with a log-burning fireplace, satellite t.v. and hi-fi has a formal dining area that can comfortably seat six people. Beyond the dining area is a small, beautiful bay-windowed conservatory in which to simply relax, read or just take a nap. A superb shower room is located on the ground floor housing an automatic washing machine.

The cottages are available all year round and ideal for your winter break - just snuggle up with central heating and a crackling log fire!

Adjacent to a beautiful, two-acre orange grove, to the side of the properties in the pretty walled-garden is the swimming pool with jacuzzi. Enjoy pool-side lounging on the wooden deck which has an large range of comfortable furniture.

Take a break for drinks and snacks in the impressive pool-house, which has a kitchenette, dining area, shower room/w.c.,  and also houses a telephone, fax and on-line pc. Or enjoy an outdoor meal from the barbecue. To truly pamper yourself go below the pool-house and really relax in your very own luxury steam room. Shower and toilet facilities are also located here.

It is with the individual needs of each of our guests in mind, that we have brought together a range of added services that enable you to really tailor-make your holiday. Whilst the home-from-home cottages are essentially self-catering (although cleaning and bed-linen services are of course taken care of by us three times per week) you may wish for example, to enjoy traditional Cretan home-cooking and have in-cottage catering.

Massage, beauty treatments and hairstyling can also be arranged. Food-shopping can be taken care of by simply faxing your list to us. Whilst each cottage has a washing machine, a laundry service is also available.

For your peace of mind, our English-speaking representative who is resident in the area is contactable 24hours per day and will be on hand to take care of things. For the adventurous and active there are a whole host of activities in the area, from organised walks, bird-watching, cycling, water sports, boat trips and excursions to choose from.
